Disappointed Ombre Leather Oil, Smells Bad

I purchased the "Samawa Fragrance Oil Inspired by Tom Ford Ombre Leather" with high hopes, as I’m a huge fan of the original scent. I own the Tom Ford Ombre Leather EDP, the body spray, and several dupes from different brands, so I know the fragrance profile inside and out. Sadly, this oil didn’t come close to what it should smell like, I would even claim I am unable to use it since it smells bad.

Straight out of the bottle, it had a sharp, peppery, almost “raw meat” note rather than the deep, smooth leather and warm amber blend that defines Ombre Leather. I experimented extensively with it, blending with different ratios of perfumer’s alcohol and DPG, allowing the mix to macerate for weeks in a dark place, and even testing it in lotion and diffuser blends. Unfortunately, nothing improved it. The scent stayed synthetic, harsh, and off-balance no matter how I tried to refine it.

What really confirmed something was wrong is that I later tried another inspired Ombre Leather oil from a different supplier, and it was spot-on, rich, leathery, and smooth, exactly how it should be. That made it clear to me that this particular Samawa batch or formula isn’t right.

I’m genuinely disappointed, especially since I regularly buy perfumes from Samawa and have always been satisfied with their quality. This oil, however, doesn’t reflect the same standard. I’d be more than happy to send my bottle back for them to test, because I truly think something is off with this one.
